I’ll confess I never worked on a Direct-To-Consumer basis, which means I’m the last person who can give you the ins and outs about how it works. VinConnect’s site is clear and useful, to a point even I started to think I could conceivably perhaps figure it all out.
If you know me you know my regard for the Champagnes. I have a new text on VinConnect’s offering that explains why in detail. In effect I simply wanted to help out the grower, and when several conventional importer prospects were taking too much time, I was prepared to try something new.
They won’t offer anything I haven’t tasted and “selected,” and as always the disgorgement dates will be on the labels. Future offerings will also be screened. Prices are quite attractive. The Champagnes are as singular and superb as always, with “mainstream” refinement of texture along with anything BUT mainstream flavors. And there’s a new wine, a single-site Les Perthois 100% Pinot Noir from a privileged parcel in Verzenay.
Mostly I’m just happy I can be useful to a deserving grower and a family who have become friends. I hope you will support them.
